The story begins in 2000 in Britain (France). Two guys decide to create a sound system with the aim of sharing their common passion for roots reggae productions and early digital. Rootystep (selecta) and MacGyver (operator) begin to collect records and purchase music equipment. They are quickly joined by Pupa Jim who becomes MC, singer and dub creator / composer. Featuring on a few unmissable tracks like the huge “Vampaya” from Tayo meets Acid Rockers, Pupa Jim’s shrill voice so characteristically symbolises the inprint of their productions.
The Stand High Patrol first toured the land of Brittany, gradually moving towards stepper dub production emanating from the English stage. 10 years later, the sound is more present than ever. With hard work and a healthy dose of inventiveness, Stand High has created a true identity and has established itself as one of the essential sound systems of the French dub scene.
The Patrol also runs famous “DUBADUB” gigs in Brest. It takes place in a historical hotel basement which was a cabaret in the 60′s where they bring a huge (and funny yellow painted) sound system. They have already invited artists like Disrupt, Soom T, Dan Man, OBF, Echo Ranks, Murray Man, The Dub Machinist, Ma Kaya…
MacGyver being very greedy, has cooked this exclusive mix 100% Stand High productions for our happyness.
