These days it’s quite rare to travel to a country without knowing of somebody related to the dubstep genre and its related sounds. Whilst there are a few good nights in Paris; (Splash for example), French dubstep producers in France are seemingly far fewer in number than those of their European counterparts.
Thankfully, that hasn’t stopped Malilone who, alongside partners in crime Von D and the Splash crew, holds down the French fort, DJing regularly in Paris and Berlin and creating cuts which have a distinctly synthy, new wave and disco vibe about them.
Malilone has kindly provided D.O.T.S with an exclusive MixtApe (top) feat. sounds by the likes of Ikonika, Heko, Vandera and Von D, alongside her own beats, most of which, if not dub are signed to the Argon label. Somewhat like Malilone, who I had the pleasure of photographing a few months back, this is a true beauty of a mix, punctuated with thought, seriousness and sexy swing.
